I am really in a way...glad that it is not coming out tell May 4th because well we all want this movie to look good and i know we are all anticipating what Venom is going to be like, but this way the film makers dont have to rush anything and they can get things done right cause on May 4th when people are sitting in the theater watching Spider-man 3 and Venom is finilly shown on the big screen we all will and should be saying..."the wait was worth it" and I know it will be....thank you for making this movie.

PS: I wouldnt have picked another directer for this movie...Sam Raimi was born to direct the Spider-man films...thank you for bringing the Spider-man franchise to life.

I don't know how much detail you can give away, but, Does Sandman actually have something to do with Uncle Ben's death or does the symbiote just mess with Peter's mind and make him hallucinate it? There was an interview a while back in which James Franco reveals a "call for more action" by Sam Raimi. Does this mean that after original filming was finished Sam and Crew decided to extend the film beyond what was originally expected? If so, will the release date of the movie be pushed back?

1. Is Venom going to be like in the animated cartoon, where he could talk and think normally, or is he going to be like a real monster, full of hate and so on?

2. The 4th villian... I'm not sure if the rumor is true, but if yes, could it be Norman Osborne?! As we know, Norman Osborne had other abilities, not just super-strenght. He could also regenerate himself. That's why he returned and wanted to destroy Peter Parker / Spider-Man. Well, at least in the comics...

The anticipation for this movie is so great, I never thought for a million years that a Spider-Man movie could work, let alone become the biggest movie franchise in recent history! Thank you for your efforts in bringing this character to life in such an entertaining way!

Mr. Curtis, in the current stage of production, is it safe to say fans can expect this installment to be longer than the previous two films?

Since you have worked and been a part of these films, is such a question even conceivable to answer at this point in time?

If these films have any dissapointing elements left to the fans, it's the fact they end. lol.Seriously though, after seeing the first one, you see it a million more times while waiting to see what happens next in the sequel.

The sequel comes around and beats the crap out of the first; which feeds more of the excitment and story to fans, and then boom, it ends (of course) and we have to wait for the third installment to see what happens next. Thats why I was curious about the length, because when the story ends and we root, clap , and cheer, we realise...dang it...the story is over and we must wait.

In the end I guess thats why patience is a very rewarding virtue.But speaking of rewards, our entertainment is your work. Mr. Raimi, yourself, and the filmmaking team work very hard to make these films great, and it definetly shows. You actually get to see the films birth and have a hand bringing it into this world. So that leaves me one more question.

Money aside, what is the most rewarding element of your work?

From what I've heard, the fourth villain will be Spider-Man himself. The symbiote takes over his mind and actions and carries out evil tendancies. Sure his strength is enhanced and what have you, but he is willing to actually kill a living being.

Sure, Doc Ock returning would be a sweet treat. But if what I have heard is correct, Spider-Man being his own worst enemy makes him the perfect villain, peroid.

The worst of it is, as we all know, is the symbiote finds a new host...Eddie Brock. The powerful uncontrollable monster that both Peter Paker and Spider-Man become never truly leaves, that entity rages on inside Brock.

Whats worse than the Goblins curse? Whats worse than battling your inner demons? When those inner demons become a solid incarnation of evil that hunts you down while swinging through the city, or walking along the street holding hands with Mary Jane; and not even your senses or powers can save you.

Three official villians:

1. Venom
2. Sand-Man
3. A new goblin = Harry Osborne

And there are some rumors about a 4th villian. I'm guessing 2 special ones.

1. It could be Norman Osborne, who is alive again and wants revenge [He didn't die in the comics, so Mr. Raimi is maybe taking the story-line over]

2. It could be Shocker, because [Black] Spider-Man nearly killed Shocker in the tower, but then he realized, that the symbiote-suit is making him evil and so on [Well, that was the storyline in the animated series 1994. So maybe Mr. Raimi is taking that story over ;]

In the comics Spider-Man always jumped around, threw his web and bounded enemies. That was his way to save the day. He rarely punched the **** out of the enemies. He was always the one who got beaten up.

But in the first two Spider-Man movies. Oh that was really great! He fought so great against Doctor Octopus. I was really impressed by the whole fight, where they punched eachother while falling down.

So Mr. Raimi, I really hope, that you're adding same fights to the third movie. Please don't make Spidey suffer. He shall make his enemies suffer!

First of all i "Thank You" SAM. For this great film and the previos Spiderman films. i have a question about the vllains. I dont think the movie will be 3 hours long and in such little time it will be impossible to get to know all the new characters. Just like in X3. they put too much charactter in one movie so the viewers didnt get to know that new characters so well. It was a great film but if the movie was a few more hours long. it would have been better.

I was wondering if the Lizard would be the fourth villain in the new movie, because as we all know from the comics that Dr. Curt Connors creates a formula that regenerates his amputated arm and also turns him into the Lizard. Also from the first and second movie he is mentioned and appears briefly. And just one more question. Is Harry Osborne going to be the Green Goblin or the Hobgoblin? Endings can make or break a movie, and I think that will be especially true of this one.

It looks so dark and depressing...

In the comics I love watching Peter struggle (be it against a villain or with a personal dilemma)... he always digs down deep and finds the strength to prevail, and rarely looses his sense of humor in the process. His love for Aunt May and Mary Jane inspire him... along with his guilt ...

So in this movie I would hate to see him betray MJ or do something really "evil"... his "struggle" typically stops him short of doing anything less than the right thing.

And after the great emphasis on the love story (my favorite part - BTW - the emotion that makes the action exciting) I really want MJ and Peter to find their relationship is stronger for what they have endured. I want MJ's words to Peter at the end of SM2 to be tested and found to be REAL. It would totally SUCK for this movie not to have a triumph at the end. I want to be inspired again!

I have to agree with Dan L - if there is a 4th villain it has to be Lizard - why else has Doc Connors been in the past 2 movies?

Why should Lizard be an enemy in the third movie? He just hasn't a big meaning in the Spiderman-Universe.

I just thought about the whole 4th-villian-story and I remembered something.

In the official treaser Peter Parker is tearing his black costume apart. There is also a bell to his right and so on.

That's exactly the same scene like in the animated series [Made in the year 1994]. And in that episode "Dark Spider-Man" attacked Shocker and so on. I really, really, really enjoyed that episode, because Peter nearly went crazy. He screamed like a maniac "SHOCKER!!". That was really awesome.

So if Mr. Raimi is going to make it simliar to the animated series, the 4th villian should be Shocker.

What is up with all this "4th villain" speculation?! Sandman, Harry's Goblin and Venom are PLENTY to deal with in one movie.

I think it's pretty obvious that any so called 4th villain will be a cameo in passing OR Peter himself - in his "dark" mode - could be considered a villain... although, really, I HATE the sound of that...

Really looking forward to seeing SM3 on May 4th with great patience. If the 4th villain is indeed a cameo of Bruce Campbell as Mysterio (fav villain) then hopefully we can see him developed for Spiderman 4 along with Lizard. Alright guys, I've been following this storyline for hte past 6 months, and I've read a toooon of interviews.

People close to the movie have confirmed a 4th villain. there is a 4th villain definitely from what people close to the movie have said.

Raimi also confirmed that Harry Osborne will NOT be the goblin. i repeat. Harry Osborne will NOT be the goblin ( i think hes going to realize his fathers evil and not sink down to it, but he may come very close- if Harry Osborne is a villain it would be Harry Osborne, not the goblin).

The lizard seems to make the most sense because on Imdb it has a loooot of lab technicians listed on the cast list...it could also be mysterio because previously they have had a guy listed that said mysterio (rumored) on the cast list...he has been removed but i don't know if thatd be because of him being confirmed as not in it or due to the wishes of the directors to keep it off of their site.

Why can't we get official confirmation on how many villains are in the film and exactly who they are? Yes, we know Sandman is one for sure but the others haven't (as far as I can tell) been definitely confirmed.

I don't see the logic in keeping this a secret. I mean it's not as if people will be less interested in seeing the movie - I know I can't wait regardless of who the villains are!

I heard that one villian would be sandman, one would be venom, and possibly man-wolf.(Or if Harry Osbourne is being a hinderance....) The fourth villian to my knowledge would be Spiderman himself attatched to the symbiote. This will most likely make for an excellent film, with a great storyline. Sure this movie might run 2 hours 45 minutes long, or in an extreme case, 3 hours. But frankly I don't care as long as its good which it will be!

I remember when sm2 just came out i heard many rumors about sm3 having 3 villans. At that time the green goblin with one and the lizard was the second with the 3rd being a mystery. I do think that the lizard will be the 4th villian but i don't think it will play a big part in the movie because too many villians in the movie could just be a distraction and will take away from the movie. Spiderman 3 will be an awsome movie... with the appearance of the Hobgoblin ( Harry O) and the sandman... BUT!! adding Venom to the mix will make things awsome!! I just hope that it is done right and not rushed... as for the 4th villian i believe that this us untrue because that would be way! to many villians to introduce into a movie... and still you forget the Lizard. I believe that the lizard and another couple of villians will be introduced into the 4th Spiderman movie.

This is what i think, Venom is one, Osbourne is another, The Sandman is third, and The Black Cat will be fourth. I believe that the girl he is dancing with is Ms. Hardy,aka BlackCat. And also, in the Ultimate Universe Eddie Brock was a twig kinda guy like Peter, but when the symbiote attached itself to him, it made him monsterous in size which is how i think they'll have it in the movie.

adding on to my original stating that BlackCat will be a fourth villian, i'll give my reasoning. B/c i think four villians is a bit much, an Black Cat will start off in the movie as a villian, but will end up sideing with Spider-man, only after he's lost the symbiote, an he has to face venom, but with BlackCat on his side, helping Spidey.

I recently read on the official website that Gwen Stacy shall appear in the 3rd movie..(didnt EVER mention black cat!!) and because Gwen plays such a prominant role in the legend..maybe they dont have time to unravel the character of The Black Cat...and they'll just cut to Gwen Stacy. I'm beginning to wonder..whether she may die in the 3rd movie. Maybe Harry (HobGoblin) kills her?? because people we must remember that Raimi isnt going to make these movies forever...its sad..but Im being realistic. Maybe he is just squishing everything he can into the last of his Spiderman creations. I LOVE SPIDERMAN AND THE WHOLE LEGEND WITH ALL MY HEART!!!

The themes of the other two were much lighter themes, than the 3rd one.

My main concerns about the movie is I hope that you don't loose site of what made Venom the best villian Spiderman faced. Venom was grey. He was never a black and white bad guy. Venom could be related to. Keep that, and you'll have my vote. Venom sees himself as the protector of innocence, while his methods follow more closely to those of The Punisher. Venom is more like a rejected child, hurt, angry, confused, and vengeful.

I think I know who the fourth villan is !!! Didn't it seem a little weird that Spidey doesn't have the big white spider on his black suit ? I don't know if you played but there is a game called Ultimate Spider-man, in the game Venom DOESN'T HAVE THE WHITE SPIDER EYTHER !!!! BUT AFTER HE UNITES WITH CARNAGE THE WHITE SPIDER APEARS ON THE COSTUME ! So my gues is that the fourth villan from Spider-man 3 is none other than......CARNAGE !! I'm 100% sure is CARNACHE !

i know nobody will probably read this, there are just so many comments, but i wanted to just say basically what every person said on this thing with good reason, the spiderman movies are great, spiderman 2 was most definetly my favorite movie of all time, id like to also say this though, i was very happy that the hero finally got the girl and i dont think this movie should end tragically and to be honest that will be very dissappointing, i have a lot of thoughts in my head as to how the movie could have easily been destroyed, one is that spiderman is the 4th villain with the suit on and by the end he sacrifices his own life to save another, now though that is very heroic and touching, peter doesnt deserve death, hes done so much as this hero and hes saved so many people, you reap what you sew, not reap what you reap, also i watched the reporter woman's interview thing and she made it sound like the flirtation between her and spiderman might go somewhere which i very much hope not, that would ruin the movie and dissapoint anyone who likes spiderman movies, but its funny even though these things would be terrible, my biggest worry is i think venom should be horrifying, terrible, evil and ruthless, like oh i dont know, a villain should be, not funny.

I cant imagine a better film franchise then this. Sam Raimi you have done two things i thought were impossible. 1, you made spider-man come to life in a way that just leaves me awestricken, and 2, you scared the hell out of me with the Grudge. Keep up the awesome work.

I heard the Lizard was gonna be in Spiderman 3 way before the teaser even came out. I assumed Venom wouldn't come in until the end of the movie when I first saw the trailer. I think it's better that way. Because then they have to make a 4th movie. And Venom definately deserves his own movie. Maybe they will throw Carnage in there too

i really want Mr. Sam Raimi and the production membrs as well as Grant Curtis to read my comment. i m from india and we have at least 3 hours movie and we really enjoy it becos the longer the better. also there is no way u can fit 4 villians in a 2 and 1/2 hour movie. do u know sometimes we have 3 and 1/2 hour movie and some movies are of 4 hours. so i request u to make at least 3 hour movie becos then the movie can contain more actions and more stunts and much more....... so plz i request all of the production team to think on my advice. and i m sure al the people who will watch the 3 hour movie will appreciate and like it very much.i will very much appreciate if u think on my advice

Woe Woe Woe What's all this talk about four villians. I only see sandman, (who I presume to be) hobgoblin, and carnage though he's not really a physical enemy. Who's the fourth?

Just wanted to tell all involved in creating the Spider-man movies, thank you so much! My four-year-old believes he is Peter Parker/Spider-man. He cannot read yet, so he only knows Spidey from the movies and re-run Spidey cartoons. It is a joy to watch his imagination at work. The things he comes up with...This is something that will be a part of him forever. I will certainly never forget this part of his life. I will keep his first torn and stained spidersuit until he is an adult, then I will return it to him. It is a part of who is is and who he wants to be. Peter Parker and Spider-man are terrific role models for him. (Yes, I know Spidey has issues, but that is what makes him so real.)
We are looking forward to the new movie, even Drew (my son) is guessing on who will be in the movie. :) In fact, even his seven-year-old sister adds her two cents! He has been waiting since last Spring for #3, I hope he can wait another six months. When will the Spider-man 3 toys be released? He really wants an all black spidey suit!

Oh, how I would love for the 4th Villian to be Carnage. Unfortunately there are 2 problems with that thought.

1 - Not enough time to tell a truly worthy story of Black Suit + Venom + Carnage + the other "knowns" of Spider-Man 3 in a 2-1/2 hour film.

2 - If you really want to tell a story about Carnage and really do it justice, you probably have to move to an R-rated movie.

Oh well. Prove me wrong Spidey Execs. PLEASE prove me wrong.

Mr. Curtis, I know that u r staying busy with all these entries and I dont know if u will have time to answer my question. But the question is: Why is it that Gwen Stacey is now in the franchise, being that it was said on the SM1 DVD about the MJ character, and how the "movie" MJ is a mix of the comic characters of MJ and Gwen? I dont understand how Sam would bring the Gwen character to life in the films after Peter becomes involved with MJ. They should have left that alone and went for the Felicia Hardy character, since I heard that she was originally in the script for SM2 but they took her out. I have been waiting for Black Cat to make her entrance in the films, but so far nothing. Now all of a sudden -- Gwen Stacey?!? It seems sort of backwards, as I know that Sam wants to be true as much as he can to the comics, this is not staying true.
Also, I know that Harry dies in the comics and it seems that he might lose his life on SM3, I hope not tho. Oh and I heard the rumor that villian #4 was to be Mysterio, right at the end of the movie.

Hello, I'm a huge Spiderman fan, and I've read a lot on Spiderman and the comicbooks. I love Spiderman because i can relate a lot to him. I actually wasn't sure if I even wanted to see the third Spiderman movie because I thought the first two were based a lot on the Ultimate series (which I think is okay for a younger audience, but not so much for the original comicbook fans). I wish they had brought up Gwen Stacy from the very beginning because so much happened in the comicbooks because of her. I heard that the third movie is going to be based a lot more on the original comicbooks so I wait in extreme anticipation. And to answer bornaspideyfan, Carnage is the offspring (or spawn) of Venom when the symbiote reunited with Eddie Brock. The offspring bonded with Clettus Kassidy who was a serial killer.

grant. i'm a big spiderman fan. i couldn't be more pleased with each movie. my question..... is there anyways for me to get allot more pics of spidey, mary jane and the villians? i'm an artist doing a tribute bike completely custom for a friend of mines son who died. my friend has been building this one off show bike for two years now and all that's laft is the paint. his son loved spideramn as well and told his dad that he would like the bike painted with spiderman pictures. well we want to do a detailed movie version with real pic's. it takes allot of poses to go through to get the right ones to make the bike flow. i can send you pictures of my quality of work if needed. this bike will get some serious exposers in the biking community along with bike magazine features.

Peter Parker was an average guy, picked on and laughed at my the masses. When suddenly, and supposedly, blessed with super powers he rejoiced. Us fans rejoiced with him because we too wished, that one day, we would become more than just a shadow in the background to the people who's respect we aimed for. As Peter, and all us fans grew up, it was found that being special isn't as much of a blessing as we thought. It can bring so much pain upon yourself and those that you care about so dearly. It can cause secrets to be hidden from loved ones and gain you many enemies who have very particular targets with which to make you suffer. In short, the story taught us that being normal and just being ourselves isn't half the burden we feel it is. You all have trully captured the heart of this super hero in these films. These movies could've been made no other way and been even half as good. Being huge into the whole Venom/Carnage era of the comics, I'm extremely excited about this film and will be there on opening day. BTW....I thought the trailer was great, and when I seen the suit crawling up Peter's flesh......well....I was at a loss for words. My mind just went......OH MY GOD!!!......IT'S FINALLY VENOM!!! Great work on these movies to you all! And thank you for bringing the children of today a super hero movie that shows just how two sided having all your dreams come true can be. I think the kids really have someone to look up to again, and in a world today that's so void of true heroism.....you all have brought back to life one of the truest.

I keep hearing rumors about the 4th villain. I predicted long ago, when I saw Spidey 2, that it was going to be The Lizard Man. Due to Dr. Connors making an appearance as his professor. first off, i LOVE Spider-Man from since the dawn of time! And Sam Raimi was the perfect choice to direct these films. Tobey is the perfect coice for Peter Parker, Kirsten perfect for M.J, and so on and so forth. i have absolutely no problem with these films! i love them!!! now i was fine with this filom being the last of the spidey films, but if they are talking about making 3 more after this one, i will be happy to watch them if raimi, tobey and kirsten are back for them. it would be another batman franchise and just kill any chance of making an incredible saga if either on of these people didn't come back, in my opinion.

now theres been so many different things said about them coming back or not, and i was wonderin what the latest is on their status for coming back for a forth...that is if there will be a forth, which really isn't being discussed right now, they just wanted to work on and finish the 3rd one with nothing else in mind. so anything to report Curtis?

Everything seems to be going well judging the new Spidey 3 trailer and I have faith that Sam & Co are going to pull out all the stops on this one I was happy when they chose classic villain Sandman to be one of the main characters and Venom although he is a fan favourite I hope he has a few good scenes aswell as a good battle. The rumor about the fourth villain I hope comes true with Bruce Campbell appearing as Quentin Beck and finally becoming Mysterio at the very end of the movie. Hopefully when Spidey 4 is on the cards this may set up another great movie involving both Mysterio and Lizard both classic villains ideal for a Spiderman film. Mysterio is my fav villain and although he doesn't have superstrength is a complex and dangerous Spidey foe.

I notice in the newest trailer that lots of things seem to fly directly AT the camera and I'm wondering - besides making for an exciting and dramatic camera angle - is there another possible motivation at play here .. perhaps SM3 is being prepared for an IMAX 3D release? Questions Questions. Well I've pretty much read everything there is to read about your upcoming Spiderman 3 flick. I have good feelings about it being probably the best movie since Star Wars. The way you're interweaving the characters hasn't been done since the Empire Strikes Back do you think? My question to you is, how much of a shocks do you feel the audience is going to go through during your movie? Do you think that Eddie Brock Jr. could be the next closest thing to Darth Vader in the action/adventure world?
