Grant Curtis responds to your comments from the
welcome back post...
Welcome back, Mr. Curtis! So very glad that you're doing this blog again. I was just wondering the other day if it would happen, and I'm so happy to see it is. I was an extra for the '2' shoot in Chicago and met/spoke with Sam briefly; his kindness and intelligent conversation appears to be shared with all who work on these wonderful films, so thank you for being in that number, and here's to the next installment of the best superhero trilogy ever and your generous involvement and communication with us fans.
Have a great day, and thanks again!
~Ethan Harper
Ethan,
Thanks for the kind words and thanks for your work in Chicago. We had a very good experience in the windy city and were extremely pleased with the footage we got there. I hope you liked the trailer and I can't wait to hear your thoughts on the third installment.
Have a good weekend,
Grant
I agree, Mr. Curtis, wtih InsomniacFreak... an awesome job is difficult to perform but so far the Spider-Man entity remains just that -AWESOME-... A huge thanks to you and to all involved. I will look forward to each of your posts.
Moon,
Thanks for reading the web logs. I look forward to being able to spend more time with you guys. Have a great weekend.
Grant
The trailer is awesome and I can't wait for the movie. But I'm a little concerned about multiple villians in the movie. I have a small fear that the Spider-Man movies may go the same way the Batman movies went.
B,
You bring up an interesting point. I think the answer to this would make a great weblog. Thanks for the idea.
Grant
I can't wait for this movie!! I'm just wondering (like so many others)when are we going to see the comic-con footage
-- jtownpointguard
Spiderman1990_17,
Thanks for reading the weblogs. Hope you are well.
Grant
I love Spider-Man! I am the only girl I know who is obssesed! I love Spider-Man and i can't wait till Spider-Man3! Or Spider-Man 4! I have the wallpaper on my computer and I just bought a Spider-man3 poster that i hung up in my room! My room is all SpiderMan! I have a spider-man phone!
Spider-man#1 fan for life,
Wow, you do sound like a big fan. Thanks for reading, thanks for responding & thanks for taking such interest in the film.
Grant
Great to hear from you! The spidery team missed you. I hope the movie making has been good so far. The trailer out is really a sweet.
- Heather
Heather,
It's great to be back. The needs of the production and the needs of the book have taken a lot of my time, but I hope to have a lot more interaction from here on out. Have a great weekend.
Grant
I Mrs Curtis! i never wrote anything about the other movies because they talk for themselves. i think spierman is the bigest hero of the comics. i colect spidey comics since my ten years old, i´ve watched the old movies, i konow everything about spiderman. i have a question: while you are making the 3 installement you are already preparing y 4th aren´t you?
Eduardo Carvalho,
Thank you very much for your posting. This is a really good question that you asked and I think I should address it in a weblog for everyone to see. Hope you are well.
Grant
Whoa~ cool! I haven't read anything about your previous blogs since this is the first time here. I'm going to the Wizard World con in Chicago, will anything of Spidey 3 be in display? Maybe I'll pick up a poster if it's available...?I wish you much success with "3", and I hope it blows the "Pirates 2" boxoffice record. hahaaa =)
- Jason
Jason,
Sorry I'm getting back to you a little late, but how was Chicago. I've never been to Wizard World there, just comicon in San Diego. Thanks for your post & your interest in the movies. Have a great weekend.
Sincerely,
Grant
I hope this movie ends up being as good as, if not better, the second one. I'm just a little worried about having too many villains in this film. Not to mention how Raimi was sort of pushed by Arad to add Venom to the film. I hope I'm proven wrong
Meph,
As I posted to one of your fellow bloggers earlier, you pose a very good question that I will address in a weblog. Thanks for your interest, thanks for reading and have a great weekend.
Grant
what about green goblin where does he come in?
Tuhy,
I can't reveal storypoints in these weblogs, but I think you will be very please with the New Goblin's story arc in this picture. Have a great weekend.
Grant
I would just like to say that spiderman 3 will beat all the films out in like the past 4 years. This could include LOTR, Star Wars, and Pirates 2. I cant wait for this film to come out!!!! It is going to become our national pastime!:)
Derrick,
Thanks for bringing your excitement to the weblog. I think you are really going to enjoy this film and I only wish May 4th would come a little quicker. Have a great weekend.
Grant
yea, I heart Spider-man...I'm so looking forward to seeing S3 and working on a support crew to help smash the Pirates record...not that it'll need it! Everything looks awesome & hope that this will be the best one yet!
Clarresa,
Thanks for your support. It's fans like you that make this franchise really, really special. Thanks for reading and taking part in the discussions.
Grant
this movie i hope will be coll
Adrian,
I don't think you will be disappointed. Hope you are doing well.
Grant
what will you do for the next nine months?
Kono,
Right now we are busy working on the visual effects and editing the picture. Soon we start looping, working on the score, working on the international versions. We have so much work on these pictures it is mind blowing, but very rewarding. Have a great weekend and hope you are well.
Grant
I knew this movie was coming out soon, but have yet to hear the story line.. My 5 year old is also wondering.
Jesse,
I wish I could tell you the storyline, but that would ruin the movie. Hope you and your 5-year-old are well.
Sincerely,
Grant
heres a question that hasn't been asked... is it ending with a cliffhanger?
JG,
Good question, but I'm afraid I can't answer that one at this time. Thanks for the question though and thanks for reading the web logs. Hope you are well.
Grant
Hey Mr Curtis, great to see you around! Firstly, I'd like to know the way you're gonna answer all these questions. Are you going to answer them here in the blog one by one or just going to write another article with all the answers? Anyway, thanks for being here with us. Can't wait for the updates.
A Spanish guy,
As you can probably tell, I've been a little behind with these answers, but I'm getting back into the swing. I'll answer each question that I can, one by one, but there will be a few that I think are more universal that everyone would like to see the answers to. For those, I'll address them in a web log. Have a great weekend.
Grant

Grant
I freakin cannot wait for spidey 3! I think it may surpass 1 and 2 in box office sales! This is def the most anticipated comic or spidey film to date. The teaser trailer was awesome, short, but awesome. When the black symbiote jumps on Peter's arm, wow! and the sandman breaking out of the bank, omg! I wonder w/ 3 villains and 2 love interests, how long it will be? 2-3 hours? how can u put all that in just 2? Sam Raimi is a genius,so I have faith it will not dissapoint! I hope in the future we will see the Lizard and rhino!
Venomousderek,
Man, thanks for the excitement. We are excited about bring this to you. You have a great question in regard to all the characters and I'm going to answer it in an upcoming web log.
Grant
Hey Grant, I cant wait for spider-man 3, venom sandman, and hob goblin, holy crap this is goin to blow spiderman 1 n 2 out into the air
EFFECT,
Good to hear from you and thanks for reading. Have a great weekend.
Grant
Hi,?Im from Ireland, I cant wait for this film either. I also want to know when the next trailer is released to the public. and Topher Grace is the Best actor EVER!!
Flynn,
As I'm sure you've seen by now, a new trailer came out yesterday. Hope you enjoyed it and hope you are well. Good to hear from Ireland.
Sincerely,
Grant
Where are you mr Curtis, we need information...?!!?!?!??PLEAASEEEEEEEEEE
VENOM?!!?
Spidey,
I'm sorry. This film has taken all my time, but I'm going to do much better in the future. Thanks for sticking with me.
Grant
I think this movie is going to be one big hit and it will go though the box office hits though 5 weeks maybe 6 weeks at the top of the chart
Chris,
I'm really looking forward to you seeing this picture and I can't wait to hear your thoughts. I think it is going to blow you away. Have a great day and thanks for reading the posts.
Sincerely,
Grant
Hey, I'm a first time commentor. First of all the SM franchise the best superhero franchise ever, and I'm sure many fans would agree. Now for some questions:1. Like everybody else, when's the release of the new trailer.2. Is this a trilogy or can us fans have hope for more?
Thanks
Anthony,
What did you think of the trailer? Thanks for your comments and thanks for your 1st time posting. Sorry it took a while to get back to you. I'll be quicker next time.
Sincerely,
Grant
Hello Mr. Curtis, thanx for payin' a little attention to the fans!!
I love the franchise and own the first two movies in special edition DVD. Looking forward for the big 3.
My only question is when can we get to see the Comic-Con footage, or some sort of Venom reveal?? And I mean the actual Venom, not just Topher in mid-transformation.
Thanx a lot.
Oscar Oranday,
Thanks for reading the posts and being so interested. Hope you are doing well and I look forward to more interaction in the future. You guys make this so much fun.
Grant
I think that it's going to be great,I can't wait!
Luis,
Can't wait for you to see this thing man. Have a great weekend.
Grant
I have no doubts that spiderman 3 we'll be the pinacle of all superhero movies to come. Spider man will indeed set the bar. Espeacially with the apearence of Venom and spidey dawning the black suit. If this is the final, many will weep and mourne the loss of this great franchise. So please let there be sequels. hell it worked for star wars, u guys can surley pull it off.
Jeff,
Thanks for your kind words. May 4th couldn't come fast enough. Hope you are doing well.
Sincerely,
Grant
OMG I LOVE SPIDER-MAN!! Anyway, I am not what you'd call a true fan or anything, but this is like the coolest movie of a comic book superhero ever!! I am kinda embarrassed to admit I like comic books and stuff though, cuz usually it's a guy thing... not saying that girls can't it's just they normally don't. Oh well sorry to ramble but I am soo excited. I wish they could make movies faster! I HATE WAITING!!! And those producer people better make a SM 4 or else I will personally go over there and CHOP THEIR HEADS OFF! Unless of course, they can end the series WITHOUT A CLIFFHANGER- I HATE CLIFFHANGERS!!! But I have complete unwavering faith in them due to the most amazing first two movies. Maybe the producer-peeps can even go all Star Wars Saga and do six... if it's not too expensive? Sigh. I could type forever about how much I HEART SPIDER-MAN! Not to mention excellent choice of Tobey McGuire for Parker (MUCHO CALIENTE BODY!!!)?I wish I could talk to the cast/crew. I wish I could be the cast/crew. Oops! Sorry about the rambling! I get so carried away sometimes... :P
Obsessedmuch?grl,
Wow, cool post. Thanks for your interest and excitement. Can't wait to see what you think of the film when May 4th rolls around. Be well and please be kind to the producers.
Grant
I can't wait for S3! I've seen some shots of Venom and WOW! This movie is gonna destroy records and I'm so glad the black alien suit is being made a part of the movies. Most people don't know about the story of the suit or how it corrupts Peter then moves on to Eddie. BRILLIANT!
Ryan,
I think you are going to be very please. The black suit story is classic. Be safe and have a great weekend.
Grant
Mr. Curtis,
Thank you for the these interesting and informative "blogs".
Is there any chance of you guys getting The original live action spiderman Nicholas Hammond to be in spiderman 3 or 4 ????
It would be kewl to have him give hero advice to Peter or?even as a love interest for Aunt May. He could play an old friend of Uncle Ben's.
To my entire generation he is and always will be Spiderman. Please tell Mr. Raimi I said so!! :)
Jakeroo,
Very good question and thanks for reading. Nicholas is not in "Spider-Man 3," but this is a very good suggestion for the future of the franchise. Thanks for reading and have a great weekend.
Grant
Hey Mr.Curtis you care about us nerdy fans!
3rd Generation Symbiot of Venom,
…because I am a nerdy fan too. You're the best. Have a swell weekend.
Sincerely,
Grant
i tink it is so cool of them to do that for us fans. also that they are workin on the cgi for the film. it must mean that some scenes have a ton of action.
spidey rocks!!!!!!!!!
Katy,
This movie is packed with awesome action surrounded by an incredible, epic story. Be well.
Grant
Hey everyone! Im soo excited for Spidey-3 i can't even explain it. I heard in an interview that tobey wasn't sure if they would make a fourth movie unless they felt they had a story to tell. I just wanted to say that there is a lot more out there to explain and if needed, i would love to be the one to help figure out the best story to tell. I love the transition you guys have made from comic to movie and if you ever needed an opinion of what would make a great story i would love to help out in anyway possible. And thank you Mr. Curtis for coming here to interact with us, the overly impatiant fans! As far as any questions, the only one would be the obvious "When can we see venom?" but thats all. Thanks again Mr. Curtis
MarvelFan88,
There is one thing for certain, Marvel has a lot of great stories that remain untapped. Thanks for reading the weblogs and thanks for participating. Be safe and have a wonderful weekend. And, believe me, it is my honor to interact with you guys. You're the best.
Sincerely,
Grant
i am obssesed with spiderman. venom has always been my favorite villian of all times.but i think they bshould just give venom his own movie, while also putting him in a spider man movie
Spyda44000,
Interesting point. Have a great weekend and be well.
Grant
Hi Grant,I worked on Spidey with you (as Kirsten's stunt double and stand-in). I really miss everyone from set and I can't wait to read your postings about whats going on with the movie in post production. I don't suppose ya'll have anymore stunts to finish.. if so, I'm here for you! Hope all is well, Toni
Toni,
You're funny. You did an awesome, awesome job & I want to say a sincere thanks for all your hard work. Stay in touch. You've got my number.
Grant
Wow that sounds like an INTENSE shoot. Now that principle photography has wrapped, I guess there's still a TON more work to be done on the film. I can't wait to see the finished product!!!
The Anime Blog,
A TON. It's the reason I've been a little absent lately. I've missed interacting with you guys and look forward to the next 7 months. Stay safe.
Grant
We have been waiting for the release schedule of the latest spidey movie, we can't wait to see the villain in this episode.
Garry,
We're having a blast making this one Garry. I think you're going to be happy. Stay safe and be well.
Grant
Welcome Back and thanks for mentioning the Cleveland shooting!
Charles,
As you must know, Cleveland rocks!
Grant
I can't wait for Spider-man 3!! Venom is my favorite Spider-man villain and I can't wait to see what he looks like in live action.
Kareem,
I think you are going to be pleased. Stay safe and thanks for reading and commenting.
Grant
Hi, i just wanna know that are we writing this comments just for ourselves or someone reads them and he/she will answer our question when the time is come? Can blog owner send an answer to my e-mail if it's possible?
CBB,
I read all of these comments and reply when I am able to answer the question. I'll see if e-mailing you is possible, but I read 'em all. Be well.
Sincerely,
Grant
Welcome back. Great trailers and wallpapers, but about 85% of the sites' fans, including me, would like to see something with Venom. I've watched Topher Grace on my favorite show, That 70s' Show, and he's very funny and also should play a great Eddie Brock. Thanks.
Nolan,
Topher is great and is an amazing Eddie Brock. Thanks for the comments. Be well and have a great weekend.
Grant
I´m from Finland and i´m not good writing english but i vant see venom´s face
Sulo,
I think you are the first response from Finland I've seen. Don't worry about your English. I'll figure it out. A very sincere thank you for reading.
Grant
I just have a quick question that I think a lot of people are wondering about (and I hope it hasn't been asked already)
I am a HUGE fan of Sam Raimi's work, I've seen everything he's done (I even got to ask a bunch of questions about him to his teacher from college, Bill Vincent, who I did some work with on a student film) and he has a distinct visual style. I didn't notice it so much in the first Spider-man movie, but during the Doc Ock surgery scene in Spider-Man 2 the camera zooms and the tentacle action are very 'Sam Raimi/Evil Dead' and I like it. My question is, will we see more of that type of camera work in Spider-Man 3? I'm hoping each progressive movie will feel more like Sam Raimi.
Thanks a lot.
Joe Ryan,
Good to hear from you. I've met Bill a couple times and he is a fine gentleman. There is no doubt that the hospital sequence from S2 was uniquely Sam. There will be some more amazing camera work in #3. I think you'll be pleased. Good to hear from you and hope you are well.
Grant
1.I WANT TO SEE THIS MOVIE SOOOOOO BAD! 2.I REALLY WANTA SEE VENOM(WHEN IS THE NEW FOOTAGE COMING OUT?) 3.IF THEY MAKE A 4TH MOVIE I WANT TO SEE LIZARD&CARNAGE. 4.IS IT TRUE THAT HARRY`S NEITHER GREEN OR HOB-GOBLIN?
SPY D,
Good question. I'll try to answer this one in a future blog. Be well.
Grant
Beautiful Job Cast and Crew for SpiderMan 3, we got great actors playing parts they were destined to and what a genius director, man they can not stop making these movies until their is a Spider Girl- u know mj and petes daughter/ But Thank You Mr. Curtis for keeping us informed and next to Venom I really want to see Carnage in these movies, I personally think James Woods with red hair would make a great Carnage( Cletus Kasady) or that red haired guy From letterman
Matt,
Good post. Thanks for reading and I hope you are well. Be safe and write back.
Grant
I all most for got that let the son that didn't like spiderman because spiderman killed his father Green G.,so l would what you to let the son of GreenG,be hulkgobelen. I do think l spelled it out but l think that you may get what l mean. l will be happy to see the next spiderman movie. see you.
Kennedy K,
Thanks for your posts. I apologize, but I am a little unclear as to what your questions are. I can say this, we have so much work left to do on the movie that we cannot move the release date, but be patient. I think you are going to enjoy it. I'm sorry your son was disappointed by some aspects from "Spider-Man," but please remember, Spider-Man didn't kill the Green Goblin. Goblin met his demise by trying to kill Spidey. Have a great weekend and thanks for writing.
Sincerely,
Grant
Mr. Curtis: What makes the Spiderman movies so great is how you and your team "grow" the characters with each sequel. Unlike the original movies of Superman, which got silly in story and character development, you take Spiderman seriously, making sure the story lines keep with the original comic books. I am looking forward to see how Tobey Maquire "matures" in the role of Peter. He is such an accomplished actor that he can delve deep into Peter's psyche. Tobey can say so much without saying a word.
We can't wait for Spiderman 3!!!!!!
Peter Parker fan,
Thanks for your generous words. We really enjoy making these movies with the great characters that Stan Lee and Steve Ditko created years ago. Thanks for reading and being so involved. Have a great weekend.
Sincerely,
Grant
KEEP THESE GREAT MOVIES COMING, I'M COUNTING DOWN EVERYDAY, UNTIL IM IN THE THEATER SHAKING WITH EXCITEMENT- YAY i CAN'T WAIT?hey guys just remember get your tickets early cuz this is going to be BIG step aside Pirates of Caribbean

Grant
keep up the good work i cant wait for the 3rd movie. oh i almost forgott to ask if u were going to make 6 spiderman movies or not?
Thanks for the kind words. Good question. Look for my thoughts on a future web log.
Grant
I think these films are great. I could only say what everyone else has said alread lol so I'll ask a question.
I hope Venom is a major player in this film but if not, is there already talk of a forth film with the cast?
Good question. Stay turned for the answer & have a great weekend.
Grant
can't wait to see the movie and how venom will look like in as a person keep up the good work
Fieldsie,
Thanks for reading and being interested. Have a good weekend.
Grant
mr. curtis spiderman3 is going to be awesome godd job to sam,you and all the other people that wer involved in the spiderman movies.
Spidermanslinge,
We have the best cast and crew you could ever imagine. They are the best and a huge reason these pics are successful. Thanks for reading and be safe.
Grant
Hello, Mr. Curtis. I was wondering... CAN YOU MAKE THAT TRAILER AS SOON AS POSSIBLE?!?!?! I have been doing constant research, and I STILL DON'T KNOW WHAT VENOM LOOKS LIKE!
Spideyresearcher,
What did you think of the trailer? Hope you are well.
Grant
Mr. Curtis,
I'm a big Spider-Man fan from Turkey and i love the job that you've done with the first two Spidey movies. I'm watching again and again behind the sceen footages in DVDs with enthusiasm to understand how did you achive such a success in these movies. I'm interesting in visual effect works, i hope someday i can be a part of your future projects in SPI:)
by the way,?WE WANT A PREMIERE FOR SPIDER-MAN 3 IN TURKEY!!!
CBB,
Good to hear from you again in Turkey. Are you studying visual effects at the moment? I sincerely, hope that to pursue your goals in visual effects. It is a fascinating field. Be well.
Sincerely,
Grant
It's great to see you're answering our questions Mr. Curtis. We can't wait for the movie, here in Spain too. I have three questions for you (that their answers may reveal a little bit of the plot of the movie, but anyway..)?Is the origin of the Venom symbiote similar to its Ultimate version of it?or more like the traditional Marvel Universe version?(I mean the animated series version, not the Secret War one, obviously) If you don't want to answer this question(or you're not allowed), can you just tell us if the suit is just a suit, or is it an alien symbiote???Another question would be this one: Is Venom going to be bigger than Eddie Brock without the suit or is he going to be more or less as big as Spidey? ?And the last one: Is Venom going to have a white spider on his back too, like in the original design?(I'm already supposing there will be a big one on his chest)
Thanks for the attention and sorry about my english!
Pakess,
Your English is great & your questions are good, a little too good as I cannot answer most of them. I can tell you this though, it's a safe bet that Venom will be bigger than Spidey. Be well and stay safe.
Sincerely,
Grant
Hey Mr.Curtis, bring photos of VENOM plzz. You have done a great job and this movie will pwn all!
3rd Generation Symbiot of Venom,
Thanks for the kind words. Have a great weekend.
Grant
Mr. Curtis,?Is the trailer shown at Comic Con featuring Venom even on the internet? Will there be a Spider Man 4? Since Harry Osborn (as the new Goblin) is not going to be called Green Goblin II or Hobgoblin, what will he be called? Why is the movie being delayed for so long? Finally, why are there 3 villains in this film? One villain has been working very well in the other movies.
Thanks for answering everyone's questions, Mr. Curtis. Please answer mine too!
SpyderNERD,
Great questions. So great that I think I should answer them in a web log so everyone can read the answers. Thanks for participating and stay tuned. Have a great weekend.
Grant
cool!
I really want to see that film right now
Danni Darko,
Thanks for reading the web logs. Be well.
Grant
Mr. Curtis, I have no complaints cause so far everything looks great! I do have one question though. When will be the next time fans will be able to see any more footage from the film?
o.c.d.
As you probably know, the latest trailer went on the internet last night. What do you think of it?
Grant
tobey maguire: the best?kirsten dunts: the best?thomas haden church: the best?topher grace: the best?james franco: the best?rosemary harris: the best?j.k. simons: the best?...?sam raimi: the best?Mr.Curtis: the best?laura ziskin: the best?...?AND SPIDERMAN 3 THE BEST MOVIE OF THE NEXT AGE!!!?I LOVE SPIDERMAN CAST AND CREW...

William13agesold,
Back at you - you're the best man. Thanks for reading the entries. Howe did you like the trailer. Be safe and have a great weekend.
Grant
G-Money - I thought you were off making a Vampire flick, but it's good to see you back on Spidey 3...
Like every movie you've made with Sam, I eagerly anticipate your work. I'm sure this one will be awesome!!
I just can't wait until the GFL screenplay is picked up so you can turn me into a star.
Good luck bringing this one across the finish line.
Your pal - Copey
CABANNA!!!!!
Man, it is good to hear from you, but pick up the phone some time and dial! I'm not even going to write any more to you. I'm calling you…
Grant
I got to say that this is one of my favorite movies ever I can't wait for spiderman 3 My family and I are very in to it.
Ana Gaitan,
Many thanks to you and your family. Thanks for being so invested. Did you guys like the trailer? Have a safe weekend.
Sincerely,
Grant
Alright I can't wait until Spider-Man 3! I hear that we are going to meet three new villains, Sandman, Hobgoblin and Venom! And of course Peter fighting his alien symbiote. Love Topher Grace who is playing Venom! Just watching the teaser trailer gives me shivers up my spine!
Michael,
Topher is the best & makes an incredible Brock/Venom combo. What did you think of the new trailer? Have a great weekend.
Grant
Dear Mr. Curtis,
I know that it has been discussed on the boards and it has been wildly tossed around by many of the fans, but I think we should ask someone who actually worked on the movie. So my question is, could we possibly see a Venom spin-off like in the comics, or is it too early, or is it just not a possibility? Please let me know. Until then, good job and may God bless!
-Jimmy
Jimmy,
Good question, but one that I cannot anwer. This is really more of an Avi or Kevin question, but thanks for your interest. Have a great weekend.
Sincerely,
Grant
I CAN'T WAIT TO SEE SPIDERMAN 3 WITH THE 3 VILLANS
-FROM TONY THE COOL KID
Tony the cool kid,
How are you man? What did you think of the trailer? Hope you are doing well.
Grant
Thankyou for the reply, I feel really famous now, the co-producer of the spider-man movies remembers me! That made my day.?I will definately keep in touch; I don't think I could ever stop reading your blogs and replying to them, it makes me feel like I am part of the movie.
Yeah, I am not sure about the space parameters things either, plus I think a lot of other people are interested in finding out as well, so I am glad my question will be in the blog. Looking forward to it. Have a great day. Joe-calculator2006
Joe,
Sorry I've been absent a while. Hope you are doing well. What did you think of the new trailer? Be safe and have a great weekend.
Sincerely,
Grant
Though I just love Spider man and everything associated with him from the first cartoon of the 60's to the new 21 century revitalization with Tobey Mcguire, I was wondering has Spiderman/Peter Parker ever have a female counterpart as a 'side kick?
Tina T,
Good question, but I don't have the answer. Time will tell… Have a great weekend.
Grant
Yes! We get to post stuff and glad you can respond. I hope everything has gone well. I know you can't say much, however, do you have a clue why Alfred Molina's stunt man was rumored to be on the list of actors? If you can't say why, that's ok Thank you.
Webrina,
Good to hear from you again. I don't exactly know the answer to your question though. Ray is a class act and did a great job for us on S2 and he worked on S3 again. Hope you are well and have a great weekend. Let me know if I can clarify further.
Sincerely,
Grant
Hello Grant, I mean Mr. Curtis.
Oh I hope I can forego the formalities and just call you Grant. It is more personal and besides saves time in regards to typing it all over again each time.
In regards to Venom and Spiderman and continuity...
If I am not mistaken Grant, it was Jay Jonah Jamieson's son that brought the entity back to earth from a Space Shuttle mission. Then Venom latched on to him, then to Spidey/Peter Parker, and then found a home finally with Peter Parker's rival photographer at the Bugle.
Has that progression been addressed in the movie in regards to the comic continuity? How much liberties were the writters and Sam given in terms of Venom from those at the Marvel Uniserve as to maintaining the proper spirit of Venom; and the whole struggle and torment in the evolution inside both Peter Parker the person and Peter Parker as Spiderman and dealing with the infamous line: "With great power comes great responsibility."
Thanks for this, Grant and look forward to both your answer and ultimately like the plethora of fans here, the movie itself, wish it would come out sooner than May 2007 though now that we have the perverbial carrot dangling in our collective faces.
Sincerely,
Bruce Donohue?Montreal, Quebec, Canada
Bruce,
I beg you, please call me Grant. You have great questions, but I cannot answer most of them. What I can say is this. Our writers, Alvin, Sam and Ivan came up with a great Venom story arc & I think you are going to be very pleased. Have a great weekend, thanks for the post. And, I too wish we could release the movie tomorrow, but we're simply not done yet.
Sincerely,
Grant
Hi Grant,
Greetings from Konya, Turkey. First of all i would like to thank you for the fact that you are 'listening' tot the fans. Preciate it very much. We've heard tobey maguire saying the movie is open ended. Don't you think spiderman got enough enemies to make 3 more movies ? Wouldn't it be a nice idea (for hopefully next movies) to have 'guest appearances' of a few x-men? Take care Grant.
Emrah,
Thanks for reading these web logs. I am constantly amazed and excited by the international presence. Spidey is truly a hero to all. My pleasure to be interacting with everyone, just sorry I've been a little too busy lately to be as active as I like to be. Be well and stay tuned.
Sincerely,
Grant
Hi guys?I will like to thank you for all the information given to us in the web page and the videos. It is what a realy fan of spiderman would like to now!
Jose R. Bracamonte,
Thanks for participating. A big shout out has to go to the good people at Sony for making such a great site. Have a swell weekend.
Grant
Hello all the way from sunny Scotland! Just wanted to say the first two films were class and I can't wait to see the third, the only thing thats bothering me is what the effects will look like on venom. I hope they are done well and not like Hulk was done!
Graeme,
Hope you are doing well. I cannot get into the look of Venom too much at this time, but I can tell you we have the best visual effects house in town, Sony Pictures Imageworks (they won the Academy Award for S2) working on the CG version of Venom and Academy Award winning costume designer James Acheson designed his suit. We are in good hands. Hope you are doing well and thanks for your post.
Sincerely,
Grant

Leonardo,
Thanks for your post. All I can say is that these are big movies and they take a long time to make them. We really labor to make them as good as possible and that takes a while. The wait is going to be worth it. Be safe and have a great weekend.
Grant
Wow ,dude ,,,,, it's super coool !!!!
Draven,
Good to hear from you. How did you like the trailer?
Grant
Hello Mr. Curtis
I'm Spider-Man's biggest fan!! So tell me Mr. Curtis? Is it best movie than 1& 2 of Spider-Man? Is there another Spider-Man 4? I can't wait to watch Spider-Man 3. Mr. Curtis, the sandman and venom are going to be in that movie? That its! Please let me know!!
-Leonardo
Leonardo,
Thanks for being such a huge fan. Sandman and Venom are villains in number three. I think we're brining a lot more to the table with Spider-Man 3 (actions, characters, villains) and I think you're going to be happy. I look forward to your thoughts in May.
Grant
mr. Curtis,I just have to say after studing the films repeatedly and seeing the teaser trailer i have never seen a film more intesifing. I mean you and Sam, Tobey and Laura I dont know what it is but when you all are all together working as a team it really does all come together. At every angle of the films the acting, directing, everything is just amazing. it really truly couldnt get any better. Now i did try so very hard to find casting calls for gwen stacey because i always wanted to be here in a movie. but im sure bryce does excelent. Mr. curtis you and the spiderman team are such an inspiration on me. You all have made a great impact on my life. I am a struggling musician, and everytime i see things like this it makes me wanna push so much harder and i thank all of you for that. especially tobey because i know he's grew up having nothing and knwing hardly anyone and thats me now, and i hope i can achieve half as much as him. So Please please tell him thank you for me. Pat sam and laura, and yourself on the back for me. I really appreciate everything. Kepp these wonderful movies comming. Thier what motivates me. All i can say is wow. im honered to have this talk with you. ?thanks so much?forever a fan,?Heather?(Fincastle,Virginia)
Heather,
Thanks for your gracious and kind words. They mean a lot to me. Bryce is indeed great in the film. Never give up your dreams, and I look forward to hearing your songs on the radio soon.
Sincerely,
Grant
Hello, Mr. Curtis-
First of all, thanks for your efforts in keeping this blog. It keeps the Spider-Man fan base excited about the upcoming film, and truly shows Sony's commitment to the Spider-Man audiences. It's a LOT of reading and typing for you - we truly appreciate it.
Second - I'm having a discussion with some colleagues about the SM3 trailer. (Awesome, btw.) In the scene where an explosion occurs next to Harry's head, when you slow the frame-rate down to individual shots, it looks like a Green Goblin helmet appears in the flames of the explosion.
I remember your postings about the sound-layering from SM2... Is this "Goblin Face" an intentional layering from one of your SFX team members? Please tell me that it was on purpose, and not just a fixment of my spidey-hyped imagination...
Thanks again - can't wait for the film!!!!
Khonshu,
Thanks for the kind words about the weblog. If I answered this question it would ruin all the fun you and your colleagues are having.
Grant
I was really glad to see Peter use his spider-strength in the second movie. There are many ?amazing things he can do.
Will we get to see him ?wall crawl more in Spiderman 3??? In the?movies we see him stick to walls and web swing a bunch but not really see him climb things.
He can also leap and we never really see that either. :(
Also I'd like to see ?unique camera shots that show the audience just how good his agility is!!!
Also Spiderman is famous?for taunting villians with his humor during fights.?Will Spidey get to joke around???
Just wondering??
Jakeroo,
In each film, we try to give the audience a front row seat to Spider-Man's unique abilities. On this one, we've dialed it up even more, and I'm confident you're going to be happy as we're showing some of his strengths, agility, and maneuverability that we have not shown before.
Grant
I am a huge spiderman fan.....And i have been waiting for 2 movies to see venom. When will there be pics of him or a 2nd trailer?......is venom done in all cgi?
Thomas,
Venom is not all CGI. He does have a practical costume that Topher wears. Were you able to see the trailer? What did you think? Hope you are well and have a great weekend.
Grant
Sorry, one more question, and I don't want to sound so negative, I love the 1st 2 movies. Is Sam doing too much for just 1 movie? With whats going on with Sandman, Harry, the black suit, Venom, and Gwen. It just seems like he won't have enough time to dedicate to develop the stories and people. That has been the strength of the Spider-Man movies thus far.
Steve,
Good question. I'm going to try to anwer it in my next weblog. Have a great weekend.
Grant
Hey I dont know a whole lot about Spiderman like the comics and all but I have a question that I hope can be answered, what makes him turn black and original colors at different time does he get distracted like in the 2nd one when he loses his powers or is it because of Venom. ?,thanks
Cam,
Thanks for the questsion, but I cannot reveal storypoints at this time. Sorry. Hope you are well and have a great weekend.
Grant
steve ,i really dont think youll have to worry about sam not dedicating enough to the story and the characters. he's so wonderful about smoothing everything out. he's one of the best and he knows exactly what he's doing. =) trust me none of us will be dissapointed. i know what your saying but believe me sam will make it work. he always can!! =)
Heather,
Thanks for participating. Sam's the best around. We're in good hands. Have a great weekend and be well.
