Did anyone notice the wierd looking web that MJ is laying on toward the end of the trailer? Spider-man's web looks normal in both of his costumes. Could it be venoms webbing?

That new trailer rock so much that I wish it would already out!

amazing, the best film of spider-man, I can't wait
oh my god, my dad was going to send me to bed,on restriction but I snuck out and saw it. I absolutley LOVED IT!!!!! But it seemed realy dark for a sam raimy movie ya know what Im sayin but it was so. Oh what am I sayin, words can't describe it ,but Kirsten Dunst was FINE!!!! Spidey out
The trailer was really good but I'm very disappointed that no venom was involved, sam raimi should of known that we all wanted to see venom, he knew it, and he still is teasing us.
... I held my breath through that whole trailer!!! That was amazing! It puts all the other trailers to shame! And did Peter throw a bomb at Harry?! I thought that was a little too dark for him to do even with the symbiote on him. And Sandman being Ben's killer? I hope that isn't true, because Spidey actually tried helping Sandman a couple times in the comicbooks. All the same, I've already seen the trailer a dozen times because I love it soo much! I can't wait to see the movie!
Oh my god! This movie will kill all other comic book movies! This looks so awesome! And Darker! It just feels so different from the first two movies, y'know? Now I'm more eager to see it than I was before! But Venom IS in it right?
#23 | Posted by: Anthony Di Francesco | November 10, 2006 6:40 PM
I hope you get to read this Sam Raimi. A lot of people I know are a little dissapointed they didn't get to see Venom. Boo-hoo! Oh well. you've done a good job so far. Except for the effetcs job. Geez, I hope you guys are still workin on those visual effects and SFX. Some things looked like it came stright from a video game. C'mon Sam. I know you can do better than that. Sweet Trailer, man. Very Cool!!!!!
I am impressed with Harry's costume design and behind the scenes footage. However, I feel there could have been another character's costume design you could have used for a web-i-sode. I think you know who I am talking about.
Other than this, I fully support your decisions and am going to see this soon-to-be-five-star movie the minute it Comes out!
I like the show of new parts from the move, and I finally get whats going on with sand man and everyone else. Its good your holding back on venom because when/if we see him in the movies we all will scream with delight. Thanks for the trailer keep up the good work making movies.
I can't tell you how thrilled I was to see in the new trailer, the Sandman/Spidey fight scene in the armored truck. I was there in Cleveland for most of that shoot, and it was really cool to see how you guys put such a complex scene together. One thing I did note in the new trailer, some of the CG looked a little rough, I assume this is because final editing is not complete? The story line thus far looks great, lots of mystery, keep up the great work!

Awesome! I have watched that trailer hundreds of times going frame by frame, that had to have been the best Trailer ever! It was so intense not giving away to much story ( And I REALLY Respect that, Thanks), and yet it sends chills down your spine and kills you in anticipation! Thank you so much! That was truely Amazing. Thank you! Keep working hard, ( The simbiot looks great, there's great effects, the black suit looks great, you guys really worked hard on this) I can't say how much I thank you! It's to much...
later...
Oh my!! The trailer is superb! I couldnt breathe properly throughout the whole trailer and I went totally nuts! Holy! WOOHOO! I cant wait! I REALLY CANT WAIT FOR THE MOVIE!!
Thank you Mr Raimi and crews and casts for these Spider-Man movies! Thank you Mr Curtis for this blog too!
Spider-Man 3 is going to be the best thing that can ever happen! :D

#34 | Posted by: Bishane | November 11, 2006 9:16 AM
Hey everybodey, did anyone notice not only the scene when Maryjane was stuck in the black web, but also the scene when spider-man stands up and punches the camera, pause at that scene and you will see the black web that surounds him,and also the very last scene in the trailer when spidermans sute is all jacked up and he reaches out to the cammera look at whats around his neck!!!!! I think we all know, that is not spidermans webing!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
#35 | Posted by: joey-man | November 11, 2006 10:21 AM
I had no idea there were webisodes already, THANK YOU! I'm a gigantic Raimi fan and that video of Sam and his assistant just made my week. God I love this blog :)

Def exited about the upcoming movie, the trailer is a real improvement to the teaser, and i like the subtle hints... and responding to" venom" web.. check the last parts of the trailer for webbing in two scenes.. one around spidey's neck, and on the construction sight...

Cool trailer. Hope the special effects are still in work because some things looked as if they came straight from a video game. I know the film is still in production, but try not to leave some things unchanged. This could be the best film ever!!!!!!!!!!
Since Eddie brock and Peter parker were both covering the sin-eater case is it possible for Daredevil to be in the movie (he was the lawyer that represented the muggers). Mary Jane's ex-boyfriend is a possible villan as well as Peter's teacher (lost an arm turning into the Lizard)???
#41 | Posted by: Alex 626 | November 11, 2006 5:18 PM
It was awesome the way the symbiote got riped off and the music was great to
I just saw the Spider Man 3 trailer. I'ts flippin' awesome!! I have so many questions, like, is venom Eddie Brock? Does Peter like Gwen Stacy? I need to know!!! Anyways, this movie is going to be the best summer block buster of all time!! Thank you, Sam Raimi!

Not Venom but Sandman is very cool!!! The trailer was amazing and I loved it so much! We are waiting for Venom!!!!!!!!!!
#44 | Posted by: spiderman1990_17 | November 12, 2006 3:19 AM
Trailer/teasers/etc.... all great. I get the feeling that since there are already some big battles for Spiderman in this movie, Venom might be more of a "holy crap!" cliffhanger lead-in for the (possibly?) 4th movie - which would be why you never get to see Venom in a trailer. I can imagine Eddie Brock going into the church at the very END of the movie, then suddenly you see sharp teeth and the long tongue. Anyone else get this feeling? Either way, it's promising to be a great film!!
No way, kel. I can't believe you would rather want Venom to be a cliffhanger than actually be in the movie and fight Spider-Man. Plus, there probably wouldn't even be a fourth movie.
My compliments on the blog, you certainly seem to care about the fans, which, as you most assuredly know, is very important when dealing with a franchise with such a large fanbase.
I did have a question for you. There has been a number of things I have heard about the music for Spider-man 2 and 3. I heard for the second film, Danny Elfman left due to 'creative differences' and Christopher Young had to finish the score. For the third film, I have heard Elfman expressed no interest in scoring, and that Young would be scoring Spider-man 3. Recently I've heard that it will actually be a collaboration between Elfman and Young. Could you clarify this issue? If Young is indeed scoring solo, will he be drawing from Elfman's wonderfully recognizeable themes?
Cheers.

Mr. Grant,
I hope sure hope you do realize that there's (yet again) another leaked ROUGH trailer spreading around the Internet like wildfire that's showcasing how Venom looks like (supposedly taken from the Comic Con trailer that was also leaked on somebody's phone). I'm not sure what you guys are going to do about it, but from what I've seen of it, it's looks fantastic, despite the many unfinished effects. I just wished you guys kept close attention at what you're releasing, because the 2 leaked trailers that have been released contain spoilers galore.
I was just about to get to that Andy. Nice job. No seriously. C'mon Sam Raimi. You guys should really be keeping an eye out for your stuff. These trailers are showin way too much and spoiling a bunch.
Wow, that trailer was incredible! :D I can't wait to watch that movie, I know it's going to be incredible. Spiderman has been my idol for quite some time, and he ALWAYS will be! :)
One thing though. I can't view the webisodes because I live outside the US. It says that due to legal reasons (I think), people outside of the US are unable to watch the webisodes! :\
hi grant i guess a few people now have seen the leaked trailer . i dont know if you guys were the ones to have leaked it or someone else but i just hope ur aware of that and that we can keep spidey 3 stuff like showing venom on the lockdown. other than that id just like to know any new wallpapers coming out nov 17 when casino royale comoes out?
KEEP UP THE GREAT WORK CURTIS you guys are doing a great job.=]
For me Spider-Man is no.1, I started watching Spidey stuff since I was 6th years old. Keep up the excellent work guys. You all are awesome!!!!

hey grant steve here id like to ask you for one personal favor. i havent yet been answered by you so it would be an honor for me if in the future or even today you could answer my question which is:
The look of venom will it be mostly the suite made or will you guyz only use cgi when needed like if he climbs a building?
one more question thats really itwould you yourself like to continue using venom in the spidey movie series or take him out of the series in spidey 3? much appreciated very much
Hope your doing well Steevey

Grant,
My question is regarding the appearence of Stan Lee in Spiderman 3. He has thus far made a cameo appearence in all of Marvels' big blockbuster comic book movies, so I was wondering, will we get to see "the man" this time around for the third installment. It is always a pleasure to see him in the Spidey movies, it makes the films truly perfect in my opinion. Thanks for taking the time to answer these questions, it is much appreciated. Stay healthy!!!
How great this trailer is!! i can't wait to watch it!! Grant, i have a question, i'm a french guy and i heard that the movie could be seen in france in worwilde premiere may 2nd..is that a joke?? thanks a lot!!
#57 | Posted by: Chad Pete | November 13, 2006 2:24 PM
I think this movie will be cool! Way to go Raimi, Avi,Tobey, etc! I don't care what anyone says, the CGI was great!
#58 | Posted by: Richard Sutcheck | November 14, 2006 8:16 AM
Hey Grant, first off I just want to say that I am an avid (often obssessed) Spider-Man fan (comics, t.v., and movies) and I think that what you guys have been able to do with the first two films is phenomenal, and I think the third enstallment will be mindblowing. I have many questions, but most of them have already been asked and the only one I have left is: What is the origin of the symbiote? Are you going with the original comic origin, the cartoon origin, or the Ultimate Spider-Man origin? I understand that you can't reveal much, but any kind of reply would be great. Keep up the good work! Peace.

Sandman is uncle bens killer? nah... a trick of harry im guessing. I wonder how venom will turnout a eddie brock/ben reilly mix maybe.. eddie seems a little.. thin.

Sam's best movie yet (hope I am not getting ahead myself.) But watching the trailier was shear joy And we all know that the Spider-man 4 will have the man everybody's talking about, 'VENOM'
hello grant and all other "web"-heads!! (my 1st post so how y'all doin'??)....just posting to say that i can't get the mtv webisodes up here in the great white north due to copyright laws! (*grr!*) oh well,..i'm sure they'll be on the dvd when it comes out,....topher grace as venom?...i would'a guessed that he would'a played electro but i'll reserve my judgement until the movie comes out,...i'm a firm believer in sam and his people,....however, in lieu of danny elfman's absence from the film, i have to say that the smart money suggests that chris young will be using the main theme from the previous movies,...but does that make it necessarily so?...hmmm....

Fellow Spidey fans, be patient! Now, we all are dyin' to see Venom, but the fact is it's best that he & The Lizard get the royal treatment in Spider-Man 4! & after hours of brainstorming, I came to the realization that Venom may well be in both films anyway, possibly going n2 Spider-Man 5 with the introduction of that psychotic symbiote, Carnage! Just know that Eddie Brock's sadistic alter ego is in good hands with Sam. I also think that in sequals 2 come The King Pin, Shocker, & most definitely The Sinister 6 should be next in line to prove Spider-Man's gr8ness to a city whose only hope lies with 1 man, Peter Parker. So far, Spider-Man's big screen blockbusters have taken me on an ''Amazing'' ride & from what I've seen so far in 3's trailer, I'm sure this saga is destined 2 lead 2 a ''Spectacular'' finale!

Venom is going to be sweet!!! I CAN'T WAIT! It looks so cool! I think that this will rule comic book movies! Go spidey!

I'm a girl, and girl's don't like comics. But the spiderman movies I actually LOVE!!! These are movies that you can love without being comic book fans!
#72 | Posted by: Batsheva S. | November 17, 2006 8:21 AM
I'm glad they didn't show venom! If they do, it is too early, and it will kill the movie. I don't want to see venom for a long time! At least a month before the movie comes out.
#73 | Posted by: Anthony Di Francesco | November 17, 2006 5:55 PM
i love the idea of sandman being responsible for the death of ben parker. now from a comic point of view, to hear something like that over the decades of continuity, this would be devastating to lots of fans. But from a cinematic point of view its really a cool idea. Because you just threw everyone for a loop. I mean, who saw this plot line developing? seriously. I'm glad Sam Raimi didn't go the way of the batman movies( and i'm POSITIVE part 3 won't begin to suck ala' batman forever) But i've been wondering recently, now anyone thats ever came across a spiderman with venom has always pondered what it would be like to have venom as the main villian. And i'm sure the movie isn't going to be 3 hours long( I WISH!) But this isn't going to be a comic movie where through all the years of wishing, waiting, and finally arriving to this key moment( actually spiderman 1 was the key moment to the franchise, duh) we're not going to just see like a 10 minute fight of venom towards the end. Because frankly I think the main reason most people are going to see this movie isn't because of sandman. I never even considered him. But after seeing him on screen its awesome. I'm hoping that we DON'T see venom...but that we see the ending to this movie as to more of a catalyst for spiderman 4, where its an all out war between the web-slinger and venom. Now i've been as patient as most fans, so if waiting another few years to see venom portrayed to perfection is what it takes then so be it. I think fans wouldn't mind a movie where its just venom and spidey. Sometimes u don't need 50 villians to make a good comic flick( aka x-men 3, i'll get back to that subject if anyone really cares about my opinion...but the movie was kinda weak). But any way, regardless of if venom is in the movie, or if harry is the hobgoblin(wouldn't he need a damn goblin mask to actually be called the hobgoblin or green goblin? cuz really...hes just harry osbourne "yet another guy who misunderstood spideys intentions, so lets go kill him any way" Not some (fill in the blank)______goblin. i'll be seeing this movie as many times as i can till i've had my fill. MAKE MINE MARVEL(i'm such a dork :(()
it was guuuuuuuuuuud man i canot wait for it man im a great fan of it i man know the story beause i read spiderman
comies al the time im having all the collection let us see
how the movie will tun out
I trust Sam Raimi in his visions for Spiderman. I was initially apprehensive of the new black suit as it wasn't the black and white costume we're used to, but after seeing the new trailer I'm convinced Sam made the right decision in design. In the action sequences shown the webbing melts into the suit giving it a more solid looking black tone. I also think that not having Harry Osborn as the Green Goblin (just yet) is a fantastic idea being Sandman and Venom are the enemies this go around. Getting into Harry's story and eventual mental breakdown would take away from the other characters rich background and is best saved for a fourth flick. The black tech suit Harry wears is cool because it's more of a prototype of what he would choose when finally becoming like his father. And thank God he's not Hobgoblin!! I knew Sam wouldn't let me down and make such a drastic change as that. Harry just HAS to be the Green Goblin... nuff said!
#77 | Posted by: Jonathan | November 18, 2006 6:38 PM
in response to Di Francesco's comment, i think superhero movies and generally any saga movie franchise should take what happened with batman as an example, not to have social attitudes and themes that are currently seen to have an affect on a film unless the characters and storyline is suppose to incorporate them in a realistic fashion, unlike batman on ice (batman and robin), and batman vs the illuminated villians that glow for no apparant reason (batman forever) because around those times early 90s neon and bright colours etc where starting to become the futuristic modern style.
But with spider-man i dont think the saga will go down that path, especially if sam raimi directs it. :)

I can't watch the webisodes right now in Canada:( That sucks!!! The trailer is very, very, very good!!! It's amazing, just like these Spider-Man movies!!! I can't wait until May 4th!!!!! I think I've marked it on the calender.
IMDB has a poll going today: "What third movie are you looking most forward to seeing?" Guess what's in the lead. That's right - Spider-Man 3. So guess what's not in the lead - Pirates of the Caribbean 3. Seeing as how POTC 3 will be Spidey 3's main competition, I am pleased.

What I've been able to see so far is great, but it doesn't want to let me see the Webisodes. Which is really too bad, since Canadians are basically like Americans without guns. Yet they restrict me from it. D:
Not that it matters, but I'm a great fan of Spiderman, especially these recent movies.. ESPECIALLY the villians. The design for Sandman and Venom (I know I saw him somewhere in the teaser here) are fantastic, true to the comics but with an updated style. That aside, Sam's and the cast and crew have done a wonderful job so far. I absoultely can't wait for SM3 to be released. <3
I must say... I saw this comming... THE GREATEST MOVIE EVER!!! I am the biggest Spider-Man fan and I'm going to be camping in New York to see this movie first at the premier. Hope to see some real fans there. Really quite amazing how they managed to show Brock without revealing that he's the man to become Venom, or atleast as the original goes, and that SandMan is Ben Parkers actual killer. Something I don't get is that Harry is to become the Hob-Goblin but in the original it is one of his father's co-workers. But I must say I just hope that they do a film with my FAVORITE Spider-Man villian in it... LIZARD!!!

Did anyone notice the wierd looking web that MJ is laying on toward the end of the trailer? Spider-man's web looks normal in both of his costumes. Could it be venoms webbing?
#13 | Posted by: Jason | November 10, 2006 8:13 AM
That new trailer rock so much that I wish it would already out!
#14 | Posted by: Andrew | November 10, 2006 8:31 AM

#19 | Posted by: INMA | November 10, 2006 1:04 PM
oh my god, my dad was going to send me to bed,on restriction but I snuck out and saw it. I absolutley LOVED IT!!!!! But it seemed realy dark for a sam raimy movie ya know what Im sayin but it was so. Oh what am I sayin, words can't describe it ,but Kirsten Dunst was FINE!!!! Spidey out
#20 | Posted by: joey-man | November 10, 2006 1:29 PM
The trailer was really good but I'm very disappointed that no venom was involved, sam raimi should of known that we all wanted to see venom, he knew it, and he still is teasing us.
#21 | Posted by: mike | November 10, 2006 2:39 PM
#22 | Posted by: Crispy | November 10, 2006 3:05 PM
#24 | Posted by: Dan | November 10, 2006 6:48 PM
I am impressed with Harry's costume design and behind the scenes footage. However, I feel there could have been another character's costume design you could have used for a web-i-sode. I think you know who I am talking about.
Other than this, I fully support your decisions and am going to see this soon-to-be-five-star movie the minute it Comes out!
Sincerely,
R. Donnelly

I like the show of new parts from the move, and I finally get whats going on with sand man and everyone else. Its good your holding back on venom because when/if we see him in the movies we all will scream with delight. Thanks for the trailer keep up the good work making movies.
#26 | Posted by: Cameron | November 10, 2006 9:47 PM
Grant,
I can't tell you how thrilled I was to see in the new trailer, the Sandman/Spidey fight scene in the armored truck.
#27 | Posted by: Matt | November 10, 2006 10:03 PM
It's to much...
later...

#40 | Posted by: Dan | November 11, 2006 4:06 PM
Since Eddie brock and Peter parker were both covering the sin-eater case is it possible for Daredevil to be in the movie (he was the lawyer that represented the muggers). Mary Jane's ex-boyfriend is a possible villan as well as Peter's teacher (lost an arm turning into the Lizard)???

It was awesome the way the symbiote got riped off and the music was great to

I just saw the Spider Man 3 trailer. I'ts flippin' awesome!! I have so many questions, like, is venom Eddie Brock? Does Peter like Gwen Stacy? I need to know!!! Anyways, this movie is going to be the best summer block buster of all time!! Thank you, Sam Raimi!
#43 | Posted by: Danny Puertas | November 11, 2006 11:41 PM
#45 | Posted by: kel | November 12, 2006 8:45 AM
No way, kel. I can't believe you would rather want Venom to be a cliffhanger than actually be in the movie and fight Spider-Man. Plus, there probably wouldn't even be a fourth movie.
#46 | Posted by: Dan | November 12, 2006 11:50 AM
Mr. Curtis,
My compliments on the blog, you certainly seem to care about the fans, which, as you most assuredly know, is very important when dealing with a franchise with such a large fanbase.

Anyways, cheers.
#48 | Posted by: Andy | November 12, 2006 2:36 PM
I was just about to get to that Andy. Nice job. No seriously. C'mon Sam Raimi. You guys should really be keeping an eye out for your stuff. These trailers are showin way too much and spoiling a bunch.
#49 | Posted by: Dan | November 12, 2006 5:41 PM
Wow, that trailer was incredible! :D I can't wait to watch that movie, I know it's going to be incredible. Spiderman has been my idol for quite some time, and he ALWAYS will be! :)
One thing though. I can't view the webisodes because I live outside the US. It says that due to legal reasons (I think), people outside of the US are unable to watch the webisodes! :\
#50 | Posted by: Alex | November 12, 2006 7:01 PM

hey grant steve here id like to ask you for one personal favor. i havent yet been answered by you so it would be an honor for me if in the future or even today you could answer my question which is:
The look of venom will it be mostly the suite made or will you guyz only use cgi when needed like if he climbs a building?
one more question thats really itwould you yourself like to continue using venom in the spidey movie series or take him out of the series in spidey 3? much appreciated very much
Hope your doing well Steevey

#55 | Posted by: tiago | November 13, 2006 8:33 AM
Grant,
My question is regarding the appearence of Stan Lee in Spiderman 3.
Cheers,

Peace.

LIZARD!!!
